I’m overweight. Not hugely, but enough that I need to do something about it for my overall health. It’s not a matter of willpower; it’s a matter of consistently making the right choices. All I need to do is be more selective with what, and how much, I put in my mouth. It’s not complicated.
Over the past three years I’ve lost a lot of weight, gained most of it back, lost some of it, got lazy and regained it, that sort of thing.
I’d made some real progress, then got lazy over the holidays and lost some ground (and found some pounds.) It’s January, and I’m deliberately heading back down.
What works for me personally is stringently, rigorously keeping an eating log. If I consume it, I write it down. Straightforward. Prayer also helps tremendously, in overcoming boredom/emotional eating.
I’m on the way back down. I’ll let you know how it goes.
